Report from Bay Area Street Church: The first bag we handed out was to a woman living in her car near MLK and 42nd street. She saw the handwritten note and asked "who made this?" I told her it was students from my school, and she said, "The kids made this for me? Please tell them how grateful I am for their care and concern... it means more than they can know." We had a similar reception everywhere we went. Handing out the bags reminded us all of Christmas, but even better because every present had the perfect combination of "thought" and "practical use." Beyond the physical needs, the bags fulfilled the deeper need they have to know that they are loved; by us and, most importantly, by Jesus Christ. Thank you to all who participated!
